Downtown Home Tour

The popular downtown home tour—a 30-year tradition started by the non-profit group City People—will now be hosted by the East Tennessee Historical Society.

The Downtown Home Tour offers a unique opportunity to see what urban living has to offer and go inside private residences that showcase the variety of homes that exist in downtown Knoxville.

This year's tour includes:

• The Elliott
• The Glencoe
• The Phoenix
• Gallery Lofts
• Marble Alley
• Regas Square - 4 units

Before you purchase tickets, please read the following.

• Tour guests must be 12 years of age or older.
• Dogs are not permitted in homes on the tour.
• Food and beverages cannot be consumed in homes on the tour.
• Guests will not be able to use bathrooms in homes on the tour. Tour guests may use restrooms at the East Tennessee History Center (601 S. Gay Street).
• If shoe coverings are required at a residence, that will be noted in the tour booklet.
• If there are stairs that must be climbed, that will be noted in the tour booklet.
• Locations on the tour will appear on the map included in the tour booklet and will be designated with signs placed at entrance locations. A free shuttle will continuously circle the tour route from 10 am-4 pm.  While a free shuttle is provided, it does not provide door to door service. This is a walking tour with shuttle assistance along the route. 
• Tour guests will need a tour booklet and a wristband. These can be picked up at the East Tennessee History Center between 9 am-4 pm June 5-9 and starting at 9:45 am on Saturday, June 10. Wristbands are non-transferable and are required for entrance to homes.
• Advance ticket purchasers will wear blue wristbands; VIP ticket purchasers will wear gold wristbands. Gold wristbands and shoe coverings (which will be provided at the home) are required for access to the VIP Access Only home in the Burwell Building.

Admission to all homes on the tour on June 10, including the VIP Access Only home of Todd Richesin and Bobby Brown in the Burwell Building (602 S. Gay Street) between 10 am-12 pm, admission to a private party at Regas Square Events (333 W. Depot Avenue, Suite 120) from 5:30-7:30 pm on Thursday, June 8 and a tour of a luxury private home at Regas Square.

Downtown Home Tour Tees - $24.99

The 2023 Downtown Home Tour T-shirts are being provided by print-on-demand supplier Bonfire.  All profits from the sale of t-shirts will benefit the East Tennessee Historical Society. 
 

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to assist with tasks such as guest check-in (at the East Tennessee History Center), greeting and directing guests at each building, and monitoring guests within each home on the tour. Volunteer location will vary throughout downtown Knoxville depending on your post. Snacks and beverages will be available at the East Tennessee History Center throughout the day.  Volunteers can also participate in the Downtown Home Tour while not on your shift.
