This Day In East Tennessee History

September 27, 1929

The Southern Industrial Banking Corporation received its charter on this day in 1929. The bank thrived under the guidance of one of its original stockholders C.H. Butcher, Sr. until the early 1980' when he and both of his sons were convicted of bank fraud.
